Francisco Gimeno Y Arasa

Francisco Gimeno Y Arasa (1858 - 1927) was active/lived in Spain.  Francisco Arasa is known for Townscape, still life and figure painting.

Francesc Gimeno was a Spanish painter and draftsman born in Tortosa, Spain. He began his training at the age of fourteen and settled in Barcelona in 1880, where he worked as a decorator painter. In 1884, he moved to Madrid to complete his training and returned to Barcelona in 1889. 

Gimeno rejected contracts offered to him and dedicated himself to decorative painting. He painted what was closest to him, his family, himself, and landscapes. Gimeno remained on the fringes of the commercial world of art and participated in some exhibitions, but his works were frequently rejected by juries. 

Gimeno had a small circle of admirers, and his first individual exhibition was organized in 1915. Recognition of Gimeno's work grew in the last years of his life, and he was honored in 1925. Gimeno is represented in various museums and private collections. He died in Barcelona in 1927.
